Fig. 3. Basaltic dike (USA spelling; dyke is British spelling) arrested at a contact between dissimilar rocks in Tenerife, Canary Islands. The stiff host rock is an inclined, basaltic sheet whereas the soft rocks are altered breccias. The maximum dike thickness is 0.8 m.
